NCAA Football: UCLA rolls past Oregon St., USC inches by Arizona
The UCLA Bruins kept on rolling on Saturday with a 41-0 blowout win against Pac-12 opponent Oregon St.
Freshman quarterback Josh Rosen had another impressive performance throwing for 333 yards with a pair of touchdowns. Senior wide receiver Thomas Duarte hauled in both touchdowns in his six catches for 116 yards in the game. The Bruins also had a dominate running that had 284 rushing yards and three touchdowns in the win.
USC had their third straight win rallying for a 38-30 victory over Arizona. The Trojan fell behind 14-0, but rallied back behind running back Ronald Jones’ historic performance with a freshman school record of 177 rushing yards.
Despite Arizona taking a 24-23 lead early in the fourth quarter, USC answered with a pair of rushing touchdowns by Jones and Justin Davis to cap the comeback win. Juju Smith-Schuster also had a stellar game hauling in eight catches for 138 yards and a touchdown.
Oregon also recorded their third consecutive win with a 44-28 rout of Cal. The Duck fell behind 10-0 early, but their explosive offense led by quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. quickly erased the deficit. They outscored Cal in the second quarter 28-0 behind four combined touchdowns from Adams Jr. with three passing and one rushing.
He later added another passing touchdown in the fourth quarter to pad the Ducks lead. Running back Royce Freeman also had a strong performance with 180 rushing yards on 29 carries.
Utah notched a second straight topping Washington 34-23. Running back Devonte Booker led the charge with 150 rushing yards on 34 carries and a touchdown. The tide of the game changed in the second quarter with a 24 point output by the Utes.
Stanford kept the ball rolling with a dominating 42-10 win over Colorado. Quarterback Kevin Hogan had a pair of a touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown. Running back Christian McCaffrey rushed for 147 yards and threw a 28-yard touchdown pass.
