West Coast sports roundup, Week 12: Steve Nash retires from NBA, UCLA advances to Sweet 16

The third week of March has quickly come to a close, and the world of sports continues on.

In the NBA, the playoff race is heating up with less than a month of the regular season remaining.  In the MLB, the league is in the midst of spring training with players trying to make an Opening Day roster. In the NFL, the free agency period is in full effect with the draft quickly looming. In the NHL, teams are jocking for a spot in the playoffs with the regular season nearing its end. Finally, March Madness is upon us with the NCAA tournament full of upsets and surprises.

 Here is what happened in sports the past week across the West Coast and around the nation.
