West Coast sports roundup, 2014: Chargers fall short, 49ers part ways with Jim Harbaugh

With the year quickly coming to a close, the world of sports continues on.

In the NFL, the playoff seeding is now set with the regular season complete and marks the start of what will be yet another interesting road to the Super Bowl. In MLB, the offseason is in full effect with teams making moves to put them in contention for a playoff run next year. In the NHL, the conference standing are beginning to take shape and championship contenders are starting to take form.

In the NBA, the regular season is past the two-month mark with teams jocking for position in their respective divisions and conferences. Finally, in college football it has been an exciting bowl season that will be capped off with the college football playoffs set to take place on New Year’s Day.
