Trail Blazers guard Evan Turner breaks hand in a dramatic 114-113 win over the Mavs

Portland Trail Blazers guard Evan Turner broke his right hand during a dramatic 114-113 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night. Turner suffered his injury with 7:47 left in third quarter when he bumped into Mavs forward Harrison Barnes who set a screen in an attempt to free up guard Devin Harris.

Despite the injury, Turner was still able to grab the missed shot by Mavs Wes Matthews and find teammate Al-Farouq Aminu with a dime pass to put the Blazers up by five with 5:08 left in the third quarter.

It is still unknown how long Turner will be out but any prolonged absence could really affect the Blazers chance of making the playoffs. Turner is probably the best defender on the team next to Aminu and one of the top playmakers on the team. He does not light up the score board every night but he provides key points and his passing ability will be missed.

This injury might prompt Blazers general manager Neil Olshey to make a trade during the deadline as the Blazers are on the outside looking in.
