The NFL released its 2015 Pro Bowl roster on Monday, December 22, and the San Francisco 49ers made the cut. Linebacker Navorro Bowman and offensive lineman Joe Staley earned roster spots, making them the only two 49ers to make the roster.
While having only two players elected to the Pro Bowl speaks to the type of season the team is having, the bigger news is that Bowman was chosen in his first year back from a terrible knee injury that sidelined him for all of 2014. In 15 games for this season, Bowman has recorded 100 tackles, two sacks, and two passes deflected. This is Bowman’s third Pro Bowl appearance.
On the offensive side of the ball, longtime lineman Joe Staley will be attending his fifth consecutive Pro bowl. While the offensive line has certainly gone through various changes this season, Staley has proven to be a dependable player, allowing zero sacks through 14 games this season.
The Pro Bowl will take place at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii on January 31, 2016.
