Steve Kerr: Boston is the Team of the Future in the East

Jane Tyska / McClatchy-Tribune

One of the biggest surprises of this young NBA season is the success of the Boston Celtics. Despite Gordon Hayward’s injury during the opening night game, Boston is sitting atop the league (13-2) with a 13 game win streak. The Golden State Warriors currently sit atop the Western Conference with an 11-3 record and a 7 game win streak. On Thursday, these two teams meet each other in a match up that can truly be described as: The Irresistible Object vs The Immovable Force.

Warriors’ coach Steve Kerr had nothing but praise to say about these young Celtics. Per Chris Haynes, Steve Kerr said this about the Celtics:

“It sure looks like Boston is the team of the future in the East, with the assets that they still have and their young talent and their coaching, and Kyrie is amazing.¬†That looks like a team that is going to be at the top of the East for a long time to come.”

Kerr also spoke highly of Kyrie Irving:

“I just think it’s his team. In Cleveland, he was such a dominant force, but it was always going to be LeBron’s team. It just seems like the next stage in his development. He knew what he was doing when he decided to leave. I admire Kyrie.”

Golden State has won 4 straight games in Boston, so expect a media frenzy with all of these winning streaks at hand. Thursday night at 5PM in Boston should be a great night for basketball.
