Raiders staying in Oakland for 2016; Resign Nate Allen

The Oakland Raiders finally have a place to call home for the 2016 season, on Thursday the team announced that they will play next season in the Oakland Coliseum after agreeing on a one year deal. With the announcement, Raider fans can now rest assured that their team will be staying for at least one more season. The topic of relocation has weighed heavy over Raider fans this past season and will continue to be something to watch as the 2016 season progresses, for now though, Thursdays’ news offers a little reprieve as the offseason gets set to kick off.

Speaking of the offseason, the Raiders have kicked things off with the cutting and resigning of Nate Allen. Cut earlier in the week as a way to avoid any contract guarantees, Nate Allen was resigned on Thursday. Allen was a bit of a free agent disappointment for Oakland last season as he only appeared in five games, recording 14 tackles and one interception before going down with a knee injury. Look for Nate to provide depth at the safety position as the Raiders attempt to find a successor to the now retired Charles Woodson
