The Oakland Raiders could lose running back Latavius Murray in free agency next week.
According to ESPN’s Josina Aderson, the Raiders expect Murray to sign with another team. Instead of re-signing Murray, Oakland’s offseason priorities include reaching extensions with quarterback Derek Carr and Khalil Mack before their fourth season.
However, the Raiders are open to Murray returning. They will just let him hit the open market first.
I'm told #OAK expects to let RB Latavius Murray go into FA. Source: "The door will remain open for a posb return after he tests his market."

Raiders beat writer Vic Tafur previously said he did not see Murray returning in 2017, per UPI.com. This was after Murray went on record saying he wanted to stay in Oakland to continue building the Raiders into a winner.
Murray, 27, was the Raiders leading rusher over the past two seasons, and he scored 12 touchdowns last season for Oakland. On the other hand, rookies Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington both rushed for more than 400 yards last season.
Thus, Oakland could find Murray’s replacement internally. They could also look at a deep running back class in the NFL Draft.
As for Murray, Spotrac.com gives Murray a $6.7 million annual salary value. The running back was also seen working out with a few members of the Philadelphia Eagles, earlier this offseason. NFL.com listed the New York Giants as a fit for Murray too.
Free Agency negotiations open on March 7. Free agents can not officially sign until March 9. Stay tuned for more news on the Raiders and Murray around that time.
