Patrick Marleau is closing in on his 1,000 point in the NHL, and against the Florida Panthers, he showed that he still has the moves.
The 36-year old playing his 18th professional season – all in San Jose – treated the home crowd to a highlight-worthy goal against the Panthers, giving the Sharks a critical two-goal lead as they went on to defeat the Panthers 5-2 and snap a two-game losing streak at the home rink.
Marleau has 997 career points in 1,342 games, and has a change to reach the 1,000 point milestone at home as the Sharks host the Anaheim Ducks and the New York Islanders before starting a six-game road trip on November 13.
