Kevon Looney, the Warriors’ lone 2015 draft selection at No.30, is already being praised by the Warriors’ staff and front office, according to a report by Mercury News.
Looney’s versatility and ability to guard multiple positions will make him a valuable asset and a great fit for the Warriors. Throughout their run to the championship, the Warriors thrived from being able to switch players on defensive assignments and were able to employ small-ball lineups to great success because of it.
The only concern with Looney is his medical status, which will be evaluated by the Warriors’ staff. Before his lone year at UCLA, Looney underwent hip surgery but managed to start all 36 games of his freshman season. If Looney is cleared, he’ll likely make his debut for the Warriors at the Summer League in Las Vegas in just a few weeks.
