San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard had much praise for  Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant by calling him “a great player” following Friday’s game, according to Ryan of LakersNation.com

Leonard’s NBA career is on the rise as he has become one of the premier players in the league over the past few seasons. He’s one of the leaders of this latest generation of NBA talent vying for the top spot as the best player on the best team in the Western Conference; a spot that Bryant himself once held.

Leonard, however, does not mind acknowledging the legacy that Bryant will leave behind after the conclusion of the 2015-16 season. He has a lot of respect for the 37-year-old NBA veteran.

Some of those “things” Bryant has done include winning the slam dunk contest as a rookie and scoring 81 points in a single NBA game, the second most ever in league history. He is also a two-time scoring champion, two-time NBA Finals MVP and four-time NBA All-Star Game MVP, to list a few more accomplishments.

Bryant secured his 18th All-Star selection in January 2016. He has the second-most All-Star selections of all time, behind only Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Leonard was selected to his first All-Star selection where he joins Bryant as a starter in the Western Conference for the 2016 All-Star Game in Toronto.

Leonard and the Spurs will visit Bryant and the Lakers one last time before he retires at the Staples Center on Feb. 19.
