Jerry West not concerned with Lakers’ busy offseason

NBA Hall of Famer Jerry West joined the Los Angeles Clippers just days ahead of the NBA Draft in the hopes of having the same success he’s had with the Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies, and most recently, the Golden State Warriors. With Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and J.J. Redick set to enter free agency, there couldn’t have been a more opportune moment for his consultancy.

Given West’s ties to the Los Angeles Lakers and the recent uptick in positive media surrounding them, it’s no surprise comparisons are already being made.

West knows to put those talks to rest, though.

“I don’t think the Clippers should be concerned about the Lakers,” West said earlier this week to Colin Cowherd. “Most important thing is to try to go out there and field a competitive team. But to say you feel the pressure? No.”
