Los Angeles — Only a few games into the season the Dodgers have already suffered a casualty. They placed pitcher Rich Hill on the 10-day disabled list. According to Doug Padilla of ESPN, Hill has blisters on the middle finger of his throwing hand. It is the same injury that had plagued him most of last season.
Hill (blister) missed over a month after being acquired by the Oakland A’s and only appeared in six games for the Dodgers.
The circumstances are not ideal but this gives a good opportunity for manager Dave Roberts to see what they have in pitchers Alex wood and Ross Stripling, as they will get some time in the rotation. With the open roster spot Dodgers recalled reliever Josh Fields to bolster the bullpen.
It’ll be interesting to see how it will all play out.
