With the 2014 NFL Draft completed, online sportsbook Bovada released its odds for each team in the league to win the Super Bowl next year and the San Francisco 49ers ranked third with 15/2.
Ranked above the 49ers are the Seattle Seahawks at 6/1 and the Denver Broncos at 7/1, both of whom competed in Super Bowl XLVIII. The New England Patriots are tied with the 49ers at 15/2 odds.
In the past couple of seasons, the 49ers have established themselves as serious contenders in the league. Their run as a dominant team began following the hiring of head coach Jim Harbaugh and the drafting of quarterback Colin Kaepernick, both of which happened in 2011. Since then, they’ve competed in the last three NFC championships and even clinched a spot in the Super Bowl in the 2012 season.
While their season this year came to a crushing end in a loss to the eventual champion Seattle Seahawks, the 49ers look poised to make yet another deep postseason run in the upcoming season.
