The conclusion of the 2018 NBA Finals has brought LeBron James‘ pending free agency decision front and center of attention around the league heading into the offseason.
It is still quite early in the process, but the Los Angeles Lakers have been earmarked as the early clear-cut favorites to land the four-time league MVP in free agency. This was something that Las Vegas echoed in their latest betting odds from Bovada with the Lakers being labeled as the frontrunner to sign the 33-year-old this summer.
Updated odds from @BovadaLV on LeBron James' team for 2018-19:

There are many factors at play with the Lakers that make them an appealing choice for James to choose in the coming weeks. The front office has well-positioned the team to be an intriguing landing spot with plenty of promising young talent along with a plethora salary cap space to possibly ink two players to max contracts.
This could give James the chance to bring along with him another All-Star player via free agency such as Paul George, Chris Paul, or DeMarcus Cousins. There is plenty of flexibility that could allow for him to help shape the roster more to his liking that could compete for an NBA title season and possibly beyond that.
Los Angeles has been one team throughout the process that has stuck that has everything that a star player may be looking both on and off the court. That said, it is still quite early in the process that things could change quickly with other equally or greater appealing teams such as the Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers, and San Antonio Spurs that could each make a serious run to land the three-time NBA Finals MVP.
It is clearly a fluid situation that should see things quickly develop in the coming weeks as James has until June 29 to decide where he wants to opt in or out of the 2018-19 option of his deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
