— LeBron James (@KingJames) October 27, 2017
The personal message on Twitter from James received plenty of reaction throughout the day and was capped off with the 20-year-old’s reaction following the Lakers’ 101-92 loss to the Toronto Raptors.
“It’s pretty cool,” Ball said. “My favorite player growing up. He wished me happy birthday. It’s pretty cool.”
Ball has long stated that the four-time MVP was one of his favorite players growing up even holding him in higher esteem than former Laker great Kobe Bryant making his response following suit to what was expected.
However, what has caught more traction is the fact that James went out of his way to send a personal message to Ball, which is something that he has rarely done for other colleagues along with current and former teammates around the league. This has only created more chatter toward the possibility that the 32-year-old could be seriously considering making the move to Los Angeles next summer when he becomes a free agent.
Ball finished with five points on 2-of-7 shooting with seven rebounds, and six assists in 32 minutes played in Friday loss to the Raptors.
