With the free agency period officially begun, the Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly contacted a slew of players in Andre Iguodala, Ben McLemore, and Rajon Rondo, according to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.

Los Angeles had made it clear that they were not expecting to be spenders this summer, but it appears that the front office is gauging any potential interest from these veteran players in joining the team.
Iguodala is one of the most targeted players in the open market with numerous teams expressing interest in the former NBA Finals MVP. It had been originally thought that he would stay with the Golden State Warriors, but there is interest on his behalf to get a feel of what offers could potentially be out there for him.
Rondo had been waived by the Chicago Bulls earlier this week and should garner some attention across the league for teams looking for proven veteran help in the backcourt. The Lakers may have drafted former UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball, but Rondo would provide an interesting pairing alongside their prized rookie.
Meanwhile, McLemore may likely be the better fit for what the Lakers are looking for in free agency. Despite a noticeable drop in his scoring, he hit a career-high 38.2 percent from 3-point range.
