Lakers announce 2017 Summer League roster

The Los Angeles Lakers on Friday afternoon announced their roster for the 2017 Summer League. 

The roster is headlined by all four of the Lakers’ draft picks in the 2017 NBA Draft in guard Lonzo Ball, forward Kyle Kuzma, guard Josh Hart, and center Thomas Bryant.

It will also feature the Lakers two first-round picks from last season in forward Brandon Ingram and center Ivica Zubac along with guard David Nwaba, who the Lakers picked up his $1.3 million team option for next season earlier this week

The rest of the roster features a pair of players from the Los Angeles Defenders in guard Vander Blue, who won the MVP of the Development League last year and forward Travis Wear. The other members of the roster will include Spanish center Alec Brown, Oklahoma City Blue guard Alex Caruso, South Carolina forward PJ Dozier, Iowa State guard Matt Thomas and Erie Bayhawks guard Gabe York

The team will conduct their first practice on Monday, July 3 at the Toyota Sports Center and start Summer League play in Las Vegas with back-to-back games beginning on Friday, July 7 against the Los Angeles Clippers and Saturday, July 8 against the Boston Celtics. The last scheduled game will be on Monday, July 10 against the Sacramento King. Los Angeles will play no fewer than five total games in the entire summer league. 

The team will be led by head coach Jud Buechler while the assistant coach staff will be Brian Keefe, Mark Madsen, and Miles Simon.
