Los Angeles– Dodgers have been hit with the injury bug early and often. It seems when one player comes off the disabled list a new player is back in. The latest injury is to center fielder Joc Pederson. He suffered a strained neck injury after a horrific collision with fellow outfielder Yasiel Puig. Pederson caught an elbow to the face and also, hit his head on the outfield wall. The training staff attended to Pederson, his forehead had come blood and was immediately taken out for the remainder of the game.
As of now, Pederson is listed as day-to-day and pulled from Wednesday’s lineup against the St. Louis Cardinals. According to CBSSports.com, he was re-evaluated on Wednesday. It still remains to be seen if he will go on the DL but anything is possible.
It is probably likely that Pederson will go on the DL again after injuring his neck. This will let Pederson heal up properly and allow another player like Chris Taylor to get some playing time.
