Portland, OR — Blazers star point guard Damian Lillard had a historic night in a 101-86 victory over the Utah Jazz. Lillard scored a career-high 59 points and set a new Blazers franchise record. Now the Blazers 1.5 games ahead of the Denver Nuggets for the eighth and final playoff spot.
Lillard carried his team from start to finish and showed no signs of backing off. In addition to the 59 points he added six assists and five rebounds. When asked about his transcendent performance
“I realized what time it was”

Now the Blazers have two regular season games left to prove why they belong in the top eight of the Western Conference and a chance to build momentum leading up into the playoffs.
It is hard to believe that Lillard could sustain that kind of pace for any long period of time but if he can shoot 50% or better from the field and his teammates can contribute their should be no reason to doubt that the Blazers can compete with high-powered offense of the Golden State Warriors.
