Championship Aspirations Driving Ticket Demand for West Coast Teams

If you’re a sports fan in California, you watched Kobe Bryant and his Hall-of-Fame skill dominate for the better part of two decades while flipping over to the Los Angeles Kings competing for their own championships at the start of the summer.

This year, however, fans in the San Francisco Bay Area could be treated to two championship teams. In the NHL, the San Jose Sharks are squaring off against the Pittsburgh Penguins, while the Golden State Warriors are seeking to cap off a historic 73-win season with their second straight NBA Championship. The Sharks have not won the Stanley Cup before, so a series win against Pittsburgh would be historic for this franchise. The Warriors are also looking to make history by defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers again in the NBA Finals. The next three weeks will be very exciting for fans in the Bay Area, so tickets will likely come at a premium. Upcoming game previews for the Sharks and Warriors are presented below.

6/2/16 NBA Finals Game 1 | Oracle  Arena | Avg. Ticket Price: $1,455.09 | Get-in: $798

Game 1 of the NBA Finals will be played on Thursday, June 2nd at Oracle Arena. Golden State is coming off of an unlikely three-game winning streak that ousted the Oklahoma City Thunder from the playoffs. Klay Thompson single-handed saved Golden State’s season in Game 6 by knocking down 11 three-pointers en-route to 41 points. James averaged 35.8 points per game, 13.3 rebounds per game, and 8.8 assists per game in last year’s Finals to become the first player in NBA history to lead his team in points, rebounds, and assists in an NBA Finals. The get-in ticket price for Game 2 is $838, which is slightly lower than the get-in ticket price for Game 1.
