As if, things weren’t already bad for the Los Angeles Lakers, who are currently 15-59 are back in the headlines again, for all the wrong reasons. According to Baxter Holmes and Marc Stein of ESPN, Lakers rookie D’Angelo Russell filmed a private conversation of himself and teammate Nick Young.

Russell asks Young questions about his past relationships with other women. Young does not appear to realize that he is being recorded and reluctantly tells Russell.

A little background, Young is engaged to Australian pop-star Iggy Azalea and the video recorded by Russell could strain the relationship of Young and Azalea.

It is still unclear how the video became public but nonetheless it has created a rift in the locker room.

Multiple reports say that Russell’s immature actions have cost him the trust of his teammates and was a contributor in the 48 point beating the Lakers suffered on Monday night, against the Utah Jazz.

What does this mean for the Lakers going forward?

For starters this situation has damaged the team dynamic and could be detrimental to the teams success going forward. Russell is key piece to the Lakers rebuilding process. He has averaged 13.1 points, 3.4 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game this season. If the Lakers want to keep Russell around the brass may have to intervene and try to help Russell rebuild his reputation with his teammates.
