Keenan Allen out for season with lacerated kidney

Star wide receiver Keenan Allen is reportedly out for the season with a lacerated kidney.

This may officially be the icing on the cake for the San Diego Chargers as they have been dealing with injuries all season and currently sit in last place in the AFC West.

Allen, this season, was having a career year with 725 yards good for third in the NFL and 67 receptions good for second.

The original thought was that Allen just got the wind knocked out of him, after scoring a diving touchdown in Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. However, Mike McCoy announced yesterday that Allen would be out for some time and that was made official this morning.

Allen was Philip Rivers‘ favorite target, but now he will have to lean on Malcom Floyd and Steve Johnson to pick some of the work.

The Bolts can’t catch a break this season and now with already such a depleted team there’s little hope for any sort of resurrection.
