With the month of July now underway, the world of sports continues on.
In the NBA, there has yet to be any significant action with players such as Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James still in the process of making their decisions, but once they do, plenty of movement is expected to occur across the league. In the MLB, the All-Star break is around the corner and teams are beginning to position themselves for the second-half stretch of the season.
In the NFL, the preseason is just over a month away from beginning and teams are continuing to shape their rosters in the meantime. In the NHL, the offseason is in full swing and teams are making moves to better themselves for the upcoming season. Finally, the World Cup is now down to four teams with Brazil, Germany, Argentina and Netherlands all gunning for the chance to hoist the FIFA World Cup Trophy.
Here is what happened in sports the past week across the West Coast and around the nation.
