The UCLA Bruins’ hopes of a deep 2013 NCAA Tournament run took a major shot before the bracket was ever announced on Selection Sunday. When point guard Jordan Adams went down with his foot injury in the PAC-12 tournament, the Bruins chances of making a meaningful run hit a serious bump. CBS College Basketball Analyst Doug Gottlieb thinks so as well.

UCLA lost a lot w/Jordan Adams,Pac 12 had figured him out some,my guess is he would have had a big tourney–

He also had a tweet about Shabazz Muhammad that has to be scary for Bruins fans.

It is going to be hard for a team to go anywhere in the tournament with a leader who does not do well sharing the basketball.
The selection committee did not do the Bruins any favors. The Minnesota Golden Gophers are not necessarily what their resume suggests. They have 12 losses on the season, however, according to CBSsports.com, they had the fourth toughest schedule in the country. Tubby Smith’s team has wins over the likes of the Indiana Hoosiers, Michigan State Spartans, and an out of conference win over the Memphis Tigers. If the Bruins escape the Gophers, then more than likely awaiting them will be the Florida Gators. Even if the Bruins were completely healthy, the Gators would be favored in that game.
Coach Ben Howland will try to pull his troops together and go on one last run. But the writing is on the wall for this season for the Bruins. If Howland finds a way to get this team to the Sweet 16, that would be a major accomplishment.
